Stickershock®
Frequently asked questions about our sensing products.
How long does the battery last?
It can last anywhere from a few days to a few months depending on how Stickershock™ is used. Streaming sensor data requires constant connectivity and will consume the battery charge much faster than monitoring and transmitting information only in response to critical events.
Can it get wet?
Yes, the housing is completely sealed and IP-65 rated for dust and water. It is not meant for underwater use but it will withstand moisture, splashes and spraying.
Is there a model with fewer sensors?
The only version available has the full suite of sensors.
How do I recharge it?
Stickershock™ can be recharged using any Qi compliant contact-less charge pad. The charging surface is located in the center of the product and faces outward once it has been affixed.
Can it be powered permanently?
If it is possible to position a contact-less charge pad over the unit, you can power it perpetually.
Is it removable?
No. The adhesive backing is designed to adhere strongly to the intended surface. This level of adhesion is critical for obtaining good structural signals.
What is the wireless range?
Range depends largely on the environment, obstacles and interference as well as the equipment used to connect. Mobile devices typically connect at distances up to 100 feet while specialized edge infrastructure can connect at distances up to 1000 feet or more.
Can it be programmed?
If your team is capable of embedded systems programming and you have the appropriate tools, we can provide units with connectors for programming. Alternatively, our team can work with yours to develop and deploy solution specific software for Stickershock™.
